linxule maintains this hosted and open-source music server. It turns ABC notation into editable, playable scores and runs Strudel live-coding patterns with Hydra visuals; versioned sheet-music and Strudel ui:// resources render the players inside MCP Apps hosts.

Not for: Private lyrics, titles or spoken lines on the hosted service. Live sessions retain a log temporarily, and create-share-link intentionally stores a piece for 30 days.

# 1. Connect the hosted server

Add https://music-studio.linxule.com/mcp as a custom Streamable HTTP MCP server; no account or API key is required.

# 2. Or run it locally

$npx -y mcp-music-studio --stdio

# 3. Start playback

Ask for a song or beat. Tap Play once if the browser initially blocks sound.

On Windows, the maintainer documents wrapping npx with cmd /c when the client cannot execute the .cmd shim directly.

Always confirm the latest setup instructions with the maintainer before installing.

Does Music Studio render inside the conversation?

Yes. Supported hosts receive versioned sheet-music and Strudel MCP App resources; terminal-only clients can receive a browser link instead.

Do I need an account for the hosted server?

No. The maintainer says the public endpoint needs no account. Optional share links and live sessions have the documented retention limits.

Can it export the music?

Yes. The sheet-music player can download WAV or MIDI, subject to browser and host download support.
