Channel3 Shopping MCP App

MCP App · UI in chat
from"channel3-ai"
2

Channel3 maintains this hosted shopping server for searching products and comparing retailer offers. search_products and get_products attach ui://storefront/app.html, which supported MCP Apps hosts render as an interactive storefront rather than a plain tool response.

Not for: Running a local shopping server or guaranteed unlimited anonymous use. The repository documents a hosted endpoint, free-tier limits and an optional API key for higher limits and affiliate attribution.

setup.md
# 1. Add the remote endpoint

Register https://mcp.trychannel3.com/ as a Streamable HTTP server. There is no SSE endpoint.

# 2. Optional: add an API key

Create a key in the Channel3 dashboard and send it as X-API-Key to lift the anonymous free-tier limit.

# 3. Search products

Call search_products or get_products; supported hosts open the associated storefront app.

# Cursor or another JSON-configured HTTP client → MCP client config

Claude connectors, ChatGPT developer mode and Codex also accept the same hosted endpoint through their remote-MCP setup flows.

Always confirm the latest setup instructions with the maintainer before installing.

>Questions

Does Channel3 require an account or API key?

No for the documented anonymous free tier. An optional key raises limits and can attribute affiliate clicks.

Is the storefront a real embedded MCP App?

Yes. The source registers ui://storefront/app.html and attaches it to the product search and retrieval tools with ui.resourceUri.

Can I run this repository locally?

The public README documents the hosted endpoint rather than a supported local install. Connect to the hosted Streamable HTTP URL.
